Historically, fiberglass storage tanks have been used in the petroleum industry to safely store motor fuels and other hazardous and flammable liquids. Some products in the oil and gas field include: API 12P FRP tanks, fiberglass gun barrels, adjustable water leg separators, free water knockouts, heater treaters, and stairs, walkways, and tank bands.
The industrial market uses a large variety of chemical storage tanks that need the corrosion protection and reliability that fiberglass affords. Fiberglass tanks hold a variety of chemicals like Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach), Ferric Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Sulfuric Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Alum and many more. Fiberglass tanks are an excellent choice for their duability and corrosion resistant properties.
VERTICAL FLAT BOTTOM
Fiberglass tanks have a long history of use in applications where watertight design integrity is critical, including extensive use in the storage of motor fuels. Vertical fiberglass tanks can be open tops or can be enclosed with dome, dished or conical top.
Vertical leg tanks are manufactured with open top or enclosed with dished, domed, or conical top. They can also be fitted with dome bottoms with a 30" clearance, as well as a cone bottom. The smaller tanks are built with angle iron legs while the larger tanks have l-beam legs.
The Horizontal tank ends are domed or dished to provide a better distribution of weight and added strength. The horizontal fiberglass tank can be mounted on carbon steel, concrete or polyurethane foam filled cradles are considered standard on fiberglass tanks. They are glassed to the tank.
Sectional tanks are manufactured at the plant and transported to the job site. All appurtenances are field installed by experienced field crews, who have over ten years of experience installing sectional fiberglass tanks.
