Stainless Steel IBC Tanks

Stainless Steel IBCs

Stainless steel intermediate bulk containers are reusable containers for liquid storage and transport. Intermediate bulk containers are also known as IBCs, IBC totes, and IBC tanks. Stainless steel IBC tanks are made of 304/304L or 316/316L stainless steel and are available in 110 gallon to 550 gallon capacities. Principal applications are in the chemical industry due to the tank’s resistance to chemical corrosion. These steel IBCs are also used in the food, petroleum, and pharmaceutical industries. Protank’s stainless steel IBC totes meet or exceed all Title CFR49 requirements, UN31A and UL142 design approvals, and are approved per NFPA 30 section 9.4.1 (1) for flammable and combustible liquids. The tanks have a 1.9 specific gravity rating and are effective in the storage and transport of various chemicals.

Stainless steel IBC tanks have sloped one-piece bottoms (hopper bottoms) to provide complete drainage, 22-1/2” diameter openings with detachable drum covers for top filling, and 1/4” thick combination lifting lugs for offshore and domestic uses. Stainless steel IBCs are manufactured with pressure-release venting devices, one-piece stamped valve guards, EPDM gaskets with plated clamp rings, 2” top bung openings, 2” stainless steel ball valves, and tank mounted operating instructions and warning labels. IBCs are moveable with pallet jacks or forklifts. They can be stacked up to four high relevant to tank size and external conditions. Stainless steel IBC totes offer great service life with minimal maintenance.

Protank’s stainless steel IBCs can be modified for specific applications. Customizations are available for tank drum covers, manways, gaskets, valves, fittings, and heating or cooling jackets.
