Glass Fused to Steel Bolted Tanks

PERMASTORE® Glass Fused to Steel

Our Glass-Fused-to-Steel tank system has NSF / ANSI 61 certification and is approved by the UK Secretary of State to Regulation 31 (DWI). The quality is independently certified and meets or exceeds International Quality Standards. A philosophy enshrined in Permastore’s procedures, which exceed the requirements of International Enameling Standards. All industrial grade finishes are subject to 100% inspection and electrical testing of the contact surface. Any panel having a discontinuity is rejected. Permastore has earned this reputation by dedication to the highest quality and commitment to ZERO DISCONTINUITY (defect free at test voltage) glass fusion.

  • • MPA NRW – Fully independent auditing of Permastore Quality Standards and product testing since 1986
  • • NSF/ANSI 61 – Certification for product quality and suitability for potable water storage
  • • ISO 9001:2008 – Accreditation of Quality Management Systems since 1996 to guarantee consistent customer satisfaction

TRIFUSION® PLUS V1500

This Standard specifies the quality requirements for the TRIFUSION® PLUS process for glass coating by glass fused to steel of panels intended for use in the construction of storage tanks for uses such as the storage or treatment of industrial effluent, where a wider variability of liquid concentrations exists, and the more aggressive environment demands a superior quality. This Standard applies to the glass fused to steel elements of the TRIFUSION® PLUS process. The TRIFUSION® PLUS glass fused to steel coating has been developed with reference to International Standard specifications for glass coatings on bolted steel panels and conforms to EN 15282. TRIFUSION® Standard is the highest level of glass fused to steel in the world, for use in the most extreme of environments. Aggressive chemical and high temperature processes can be considered with this high-quality contact surface finish, offering zero discontinuity when tested to 1500 Volts on every panel manufactured.

TRIFUSION® V1100

Our glass fused to fused sheets are guaranteed to a 100% zero discontinuity policy which means only defect free sheets are released to the marketplace. We offer a complete range of glass fused to steel coatings to satisfy a complete range of storage applications. Applied to both interior and exterior surfaces, glass fused to steel can provide many years of trouble-free service in the harshest environments. TRIFUSION® is designed to produce an extremely strong chemical bond to the steel during the fusion process. This places the glass in compression and it remains in compression even when the steel bends and flexes. Our glass fused to steel coatings are designed to deliver strength and durability while the steel is in tension due to the contents load. Glass fused to steel coatings are both chemically fused to and physically combined with the steel substrate resulting in an unmatched, tough durable bond. TRIFUSION® has rightfully become the standard by which all other finishes are assessed. This proven high quality contact surface finish sets the benchmark for use in the more demanding areas of industrial effluent treatment and sludge digestion. An additional protective layer, together with zero discontinuity on every panel finish is tested at an exacting 1100 Volts, provides exceptional security and continuous protection. Glass is impermeable to liquids and vapors; it eliminates corrosion undercutting and offers excellent impact and abrasion resistance.

ISOFUSION® V700

Our PERMASTORE® tanks use a unique glass fused to steel coating process to produce an environmentally inert finish that has wide chemical resistance. Permastore tanks are manufactured under European Union (EN) and American Water Works Association (AWWA) Standard conforming steel plates. Manufactured to individual sizes, the plates are grit blasted to create a roughened imperfection free surface. They are chemically washed, and rust inhibited prior to the application of a chemical pre-coat to enhance glass to steel adhesion. Coated in silica glass the plates are fired to produce a mechanical and chemical bond between glass and steel. The result is a tank with enhanced quality levels and continuity of coating across all contact areas. Tank plates are sealed together using a lap joint configuration with a sealant that has excellent adhesion, flexibility and chemical resistance. Standard tank external colors are dark green and dark blue. Other colors are available on request. We have expertise in the supply of low-cost corrosion-free liquid storage tanks. ISOFUSION® tanks establishes a lower cost solution delivering security and protection through Permastore’s 100% inspection, high voltage (700 volts) zero discontinuity coating specification which is defect free at test voltage.

ECOFUSION®

The ECOFUSION® solution is established as the product of choice for the agricultural marketplace. This standard specifies the quality requirements for the ECOFUSION® process for glass coating by glass fused to steel of panels intended for use in the construction of tanks for uses such as storage of moist whole grain or a mixture consisting wholly or mainly of excreta produced by livestock of a consistency that allows it to be pumped or discharged by gravity at any stage in the handling process. The ECOFUSION® glass coating has been developed with reference to International Standard Specifications for glass coatings on bolted steel panels for the construction of agricultural tanks for the storage of animal slurry above ground on farms and conforms to EN ISO 28765. The testing shall have an accuracy of +/-1% using a test voltage of 9 volts.

PERMASTORE® Cones

A cone bottom tank is used in processes where complete drainage is essential. This includes storage of heavy liquids and sludges that are difficult to drain. They are also used to separate and decant solids from liquid fractions. Cone bottom storage tanks are usually used to store water, liquid fertilizer, liquid feed, salt brine and other liquids and chemicals. The canonical bottoms in a cone bottom tank ensure complete drainage making them the perfect solution for getting every last drop out of the tank. The angle of the cone’s slope depends on the application. Climate Inc. offers a variety of different liquid and solids storage tank shapes to suit every possible storage situation. If you are looking for a new tank for your application, we will design, fabricate and deliver the best tank to achieve your process goals. If you need help selecting a tank, ask us about it! We will put all our experience, technical skills, and knowledge at your disposal to ensure that you choose the most suitable and cost-effective option.

PERMASTORE® Cones Specifications

Advantages:

  • • A sloped base enables complete drainage
  • • Easy to bottom-fill
  • • Can tap off sediment without draining liquid fraction
  • • No low spots where sediment can accumulate
  • • Especially suited to high solids content slurries

Disadvantages:

  • • Require special stands and more headroom
  • • More difficult to move
  • • Must be installed on concrete
  • • Top heavy therefore requires more seismic bracing
  • • Geometry promotes fluid ‘stall’ leading to stratification, temperature gradients, and radial flow
  • • If used for mixing, it requires the use of a longer, more expensive impeller shaft
  • • Not suited to suspension of solids, especially in concentrations above 5%
